The Heroine Project presents: Over the Top

We are posting the following information on behalf of the Heroine Project.

OVER THE TOP

The true-life tale of Dorothy Lawrence

New theatre that tells the astonishing true story of a forgotten First World War heroine

Salisbury 1917: aspiring young journalist Dorothy Lawrence returns to spend the summer with her wealthy guardian. She is suffering from a nervous complaint and is harbouring secrets that the War Office forbids her to tell.

What made one woman brave enough to follow her ambition and act alone? How was she affected by what she saw on the on the front line? And what led up to her admittance to Hanwell Lunatic Asylum in 1925?

With two performers, dark humour and an orginal score, this show explores the explosive personality at the heart of this extraordinary story.
